Ladybirds follows on from Dragonflies, and is our Pre-School room for age 3-4 children. Here we encompass all the continuous provision areas, along with stimulating activities built around your child’s interests or topics. The provision supports your child to understand through logic, reasoning and free thought, enabling your child to develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.

The staff plan adult led sessions which are based around the children's needs, making sure everything is progressive. Activities such as making play dough, cutting skills, mark making, name writing, maths, or topic based exploring. We have topics based around seasons, and festivals. Children are taught about different cultures and beliefs and we explore these through dress-up, play, food tasting and music. 

Children are actively encouraged to be independent, we help support with name writing, maths mastery, and embed learning through revisiting our number, colour, shape and book of the week. Jolly Phonics is taught to enhance letter recognition, and children self register on a morning using name cards, to enable them to recognise initial sounds from their name.

Mealtimes are made enjoyable to further develop appropriate table manners. Here your child will become more independent, by selecting their own cutlery and pouring their own drinks with the support of staff. Choosing and selecting their own fruit for snack is also encouraged as well as to try a wide variety of foods.
